921A Airdrop Systems Technician
Overview
Airdrop Systems Technicians supervise equipment preparation for airdrop, parachute packing, and the repair of parachutes and associated equipment. They establish rigging sites, instruct personnel on airdrop procedures, coordinate aircraft loading, participate in joint airdrop load inspections, and provide technical guidance to commanders.

What the Work Involves
- Inspect shipments to ensure that freight is securely braced and blocked.
- Advise crews in techniques of stowing dangerous and heavy cargo.
- Observe loading of freight to ensure that crews comply with procedures.
- Plan, develop, and provide training and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
