Overview
A METOC Analyst Forecaster observes, collects, records, validates, processes, and distributes meteorological and oceanographic data to produce forecasts and environmental assessments. This analyst uses and performs preventive maintenance on METOC sensors, information technology systems, and related equipment.

What the Work Involves

- Formulate predictions by interpreting environmental data, such as meteorological, atmospheric, oceanic, paleoclimate, climate, or related information.
- Broadcast weather conditions, forecasts, or severe weather warnings to the public via television, radio, or the Internet or provide this information to the news media.
