Getting Started

  • Remote Pilot

    Develop civilian regulatory and operating knowledge for small-UAS data collection; certificate holders must complete recurrent online training every 24 calendar months.

    Eligibility and preparation: First-time applicants must be at least 16, be able to read, speak, write, and understand English, be in a physical and mental condition to fly safely, and pass the initial Unmanned Aircraft General - Small (UAG) knowledge exam. The existing-pilot route requires a Part 61 pilot certificate and a flight review within the previous 24 months.
