Electrical and Electronics Repairers, Commercial and Industrial Equipment

Checking electromagnetic control measures and reporting interference during maintenance transfers to electronic equipment inspection and fault documentation.

How to prepare: Complete a hands-on electronics troubleshooting course focused on diagnosing faults with test equipment and repairing electronic units.

What the civilian work involves
  • Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.
  • Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.
  • Inspect components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation or for defects, such as loose connections or frayed wires.
Civilian tools and software (examples)
  • Circuit evaluation software
  • Computerized maintenance management system CMMS
