Overview
A Shore Base Airport and Aircraft Firefighter performs rescue, firefighting, and salvage duties at naval air stations, facilities, outlying fields, and other naval activities ashore. The firefighter also supports structural firefighting and hazardous materials response, conducts preoperational inspections, and operates rescue, firefighting, salvage, and personal protective equipment.

What the Work Involves
- Rescue survivors from burning buildings, accident sites, and water hazards.
- Dress with equipment such as fire-resistant clothing and breathing apparatus.

- Move toward the source of a fire, using knowledge of types of fires, construction design, building materials, and physical layout of properties.
