Overview
A Gunner's Mate trained through Combined A School performs journeyman level tasks during the first 12 to 24 months of the training continuum. The Gunner's Mate operates and maintains Surface Vessel Torpedo Tubes and performs minor casualty analysis and repairs on electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and servo systems aboard ship.

What the Work Involves
- Start motors and monitor performance for signs of malfunctioning, such as smoke, excessive vibration, or misfiring.
