Description

Performs organizational level maintenance and operation of the Announcing Communication Systems which supports the 1MC (General), 3MC (Aviators), 5MC (Flight Deck), 6MC (Ship-to-Ship) and 2MC (Propulsion Plant) announcing circuits. Announcing Communication System (ACS) provides the following interfaces; Improved Point Detection System (IPDS) Alarm Activation, Ship’s Telephone Interface, Ship’s Info Training Entertainment (SITE), Shipboard Air Traffic Control, Hierarchical Yet Dynamically Reprogrammable Architecture (HYDRA) and Remote Fault Monitoring communication channels into the control system. Using basic knowledge and skills to perform fault isolation and corrective maintenance on the Announcing Communication Systems which consist of Power Supplies, Telephone Interfaces, Control Computers, Digital Audio Players, Digital Matrix Mixers, Audio Control Panels, Audio Relays, Speaker Group Relays, Monitor Panels, Audio Amplifiers, Digital/Analog Microphone Control Stations, Presentation Control Stations, and Speakers. Utilizing basic knowledge and skills to set up and maintain firmware configurations of all system features. Ensures 24 hours-a-day operation during ship readiness conditions I through V.
