Overview

The AN/SQQ-32(V)4 Minehunting Sonar Set maintenance technician detects, diagnoses, and isolates equipment failures using maintenance software, fault logic diagrams, schematics, and wiring and logic diagrams. The technician replaces failed modules and components and prepares maintenance forms, logs, and schedules.

What the Work Involves

  • Inspect and test electrical systems and equipment to locate and diagnose malfunctions, using visual inspections, testing devices, and computer software.
  • Reassemble and test equipment after repairs.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective wiring and relays in ignition, lighting, air-conditioning, and safety control systems, using electrician's tools.
