Description
Provides personnel with instruction in requisite knowledge and skills to perform tactical employment of the AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 SONAR Suite. The Acoustic Sensor Operator (ASO) will be able to employ and operate primary passive and active functional segments for all applicable USW mission phases. Provides training in basic oceanography, acoustic analysis, SONAR fundamentals and level one maintenance responsibilities. ASW administration and basic SONAR watchstanding are also covered in accordance with the most recently published references. Additionally, students receive training performing basic acoustic analysis utilizing current iltelligence data.
