7210 Air Defense Control Officer

Overview

An Air Defense Control Officer works in a tactical air operations center, directing aircraft and surface to air missile assets to intercept hostile aircraft and missiles. This officer identifies and classifies aircraft, assists friendly aircraft with navigation, coordinates enemy targeting information with intelligence resources, directs deep air support missions, and distributes radar resources across Marine air ground task forces and joint services.
